Hi, I’m Nicolette Bellos. I am attending my second year at Joliet Junior College. I was taken seriously ill on December 1, 2006. I have been in remission from the autoimmune disease called Vasculitis since February 2008. On March 17, 2008, I was honored to receive a living donor kidney. I am currently fighting PTLD, Post Transplant Lymphproliferative Disease and under going chemotherapy. Throughout my challenges, I have needed numerous blood transfusions & plasmapheresis to help my body fight and recover. I am very grateful to UIC’s blood bank. It is my desire to pay back the University of Illinois Medical Center’s Blood Bank for the numerous units I used. I’m asking for your help by marking your calendar for May 7, 2011. It takes 15 minutes to donate.
Looking forward to seeing you!

For those of you who do not know Jim, he has been a resident of this area for 47 years. He attended Chaney Monge and Lockport Township High School. Jim has been in the Laborers Union, Local 75, for the past 25 years. He is currently, or previously has been, a member of the Croatian Culture Club, Ravens Club, and Illini Powerboaters Racing Team. He is known for his craftsmanship in his custom paint jobs, superior skills building ...engines, and meticulous work done on every vehicle that enters his garage. These are not only his talents, but also his passions. Recently, Jim was diagnosed with stage IV Barrett’s Esophageal Cancer and has been undergoing Chemotherapy. Unfortunately, he has reached the point in his illness that prevents him from working. His insurance will not cover all of the treatments recommended by his doctor, resulting in him being unable to receive the appropriate care to undertake this challenge. With your help and generosity, Jim will be able to get the proper treatment needed and therefore, truly focus on fighting this difficult battle. Jim is surrounded with love and support of his wife, Tracey, and 4 daughters; Laurenn, Tina, Tammy, and Angel, along with many other family and friends. However, their support can only take him so far, that’s why we are asking for your contribution during this tough time.
